A Systematic, Classical Approach

Developing a Grand Prix horse is the work of years — often a minimum of eight — and it is all about the basics of a strong foundation. We go slowly in the right direction rather than quickly in the wrong one, shaping each horse into a confident, capable athlete through consistent, deliberate practice.

Dressage theory provides the framework, but it becomes art in the application: knowing precisely when and how to use gymnasticizing exercises to enhance the horse's strength, balance, and the quality of the gaits.

The Scales of Training

Every horse is developed progressively through the classical Scales of Training:

  • Rhythm
  • Suppleness
  • Contact
  • Impulsion
  • Straightness
  • Collection

What to Expect

Horses receive three to five training rides per week within a boutique program limited to four horses at a time, ensuring consistency across every aspect of their care and training.

We take the time to school at different venues — practicing trailer-loading, hand-walking, lunging, and in-hand work — so that relaxation and a swinging, supple back always come first.
